YTMND ftw.

And the NEDM music is by Coburn, and is entitled "We Interrupt This Programme". Yeah, spelled like that. It's not from Doom. Well actually, it's a remix of the above mentioned song, and I can't find the file of it anywhere.

NotSafeForWork responds:

Thank you! I'll update that.

You ftw.

Sir, you have pwned everything else in existence with this Flash movie. I've watched it countless times now, and it is so crazy and fast-paced, I notice new things every time. I saw the previous "Black Mages" Flashes of yours, and they were good, but this is pure godlines. You can practically smell all the hard work that must have gone into this amazing animation and artwork. The sound is extremely well done; specifically I love how the lightning-fast transitions between scenes change music quickly as well. FFIX was a good choice of FF games to get the music from; some of the best in the series (and not to mention my favorite of the games.) I liked how all of the main classes played a role, though personally I wish red mage pwned more (I'm a huge RDM fanboy.) The whole movie was greatly entertaining, as were the outtakes, a very nice touch. If there is one thing I'm not totally satisfied with though, it's the ending. It seemed a bit...I don't want to say "rushed," but somewhat abrupt and unsatisfying. I'd like it to have finished with something really funny/stupid, rather than a giant blast of energy. But it by no means ruins the movie; obviously it isn't intended to be a traditional plot.

This will remain one of my favorite Flash movies ever, sir. Extremely well done.

P.S. It's totally off the subject, but I disagree that sprites are for unoriginal people. Though many sprite works may suck, I think that if done correctly they can be masterpieces. I'm a sprite ripper myself. Nothing personal, just wanted to get that off my chest. Your movie pwns and I worship you. Please, let me wash yoru balls.

matt-likes-swords responds:

The ending was the result of me not writing a script :D

But thanks for the neat review.

Meh.

Amazing Flash skills, but I just wish that such talent was put into something a bit more...funny. No offense.

Amazing.

Sir, let me say that I am rarely ever impressed as much by a Flash movie as I was while watching these two. I really don't even know where to start. Nearly everything about them was masterful in every sense of the word. Amazing use of sprites, sound effects, and music. I especially loved the use of Diddy Kong Racing music and the final boss music from Paper Mario. I know that these choices of music won't be appreciated by most viewers, but the minute I heard them I had nastalgia up the bunghole. WONDERFUL choices for music. It's hard for me to imagine a better use of sound in these movies, really. The visuals were astounding; I can tell the sprite use must have taken a very long time. When Bowser started getting owned by caped Mario, I swear I actually got pumped up. I can't remember ever feeling that way when seeing an action scene in a Flash movie before. Bravo sir, bravo.

Though miniscule, I feel it is important for me to also mention the very small criticisms I had. There were basically two things I disliked, the first and foremost being the small yet recurring Dragon Ball Z traits throughout the movie. To be honest, I was at first expecting to dislike the movie because of the DBZ refferences, being that I dislike the show. You completely proved me wrong, but I still felt the tidbits of it took away from the movie, despite by how small of a degree. This couldn't really be classified as a DBZ parody or homage, so I think the somewhat corny refferences to it weren't needed. The second thing was the dialogue, which I often found a bit corny as well. A large part of it could have been left out entirely, in my opinion.

Despite those tiny criticisms, this movie is absolutely wonderful. In fact, both of them are. I will probably watch these again, and enjoy them just as much. If you believe in Hell, these masterpieces will surely negate any chances of going there you had, and ensure you a safe and loving place in eternal bliss. You win sir, and good day.

Kinda bad

Now I'm sure alot of people who review this movie will say they love it and rate it 5/5 just because it's a tribute to 9/11, but I'm not that simple-minded. This was not a great flash. The music was too friggin' loud, and it was a just plain bad choice. It sounded like a love song. As pointed out by others, she would have been two years old when her dad died, and I don't think she'd be "missing" all of these things about him now.

The views are all boring with no variety, just showing different angles of her head over and over with different backgrounds. It wasn't very entertaining. And I can't say I came close to crying. It could be a little more emotional if better music, ideas, and views were used. This just didn't reach me on an emotional level. Besides, all the constant references to 9/11 in our daily life wear out its sadness. I'm not going to feel bad if I think about it 512 times a day.

I just don't think this submission hits home on an emotional level, where it was meant to hit. The graphics were pretty good though, I give you that. I liked Ray part 1 way more.

Oh, and Ozzy19178, fuck you. Fuck you in your ear.

Disappointing

I LOVED the first two parts of ROTMK. They were legendary. This completely ruined the plot of the story. The first two had an emotional appeal because of Mario's death, and it was quite powerful. In this one, the story and emotion became worthless when the viewer found out that it was all a dream. Not to mention it's just plain corny. It's a major disappointment to see that all of the power of the revenge of Luigi and the Mushroom Kingdom were just thoughts in Luigi's head.

Randy Solem, I love your movies, don't get me wrong. The visual effects and sound quality were top notch too. But I think this just went too far. All that hard work could have been put to a whole new Flash project and it could have been awesome in its own right. In my opinion this story would have been perfect with only the first two parts (though the end of part 2 was kind of disappointing in the same sense that this was).

Randy-Solem responds:

uhhh weren't the first two corny?? :/

That was cool.

I loved how the sound went perfectly with the animation. It really helped make it hilarious. I loved Abobo's voice. And I'm really happy to see that you used my sprites, and thanks for the credit!

garvinash responds:

major league thanks goes to you for ripping both the Abobo and all RCR sprites that I've used in my films. and Late in the Evening kick ass, man.

Terrible

This was just too crappy and corny. You could have at least had some voice actors, and had them NOT say things like "You will die now" and "Ha! Look who's dead now!" Stupidly short, stupidly corny, stupidly not entertaining.

Awesome

Wow, I loved that. Lots of effort put into this, I can tell. The graphics would have gotten a ten, but it's just that sprites from tons of different games thrown into one flash is kind of annoying to me, usually. It's just a personal thing, but in this case it worked out fine. Sound effects were varied and incredible, taken from alot of games (also admirable because I don't know how you got those sound effects). The battle was action-packed, and some of the moves were extremely well-designed and put into animation very well. The moves Zero did with his beam sabre were so quick and professionally animated, I just couldn't help but be in awe. The different angles of the stadium really added good perspective to this; HeatMan rushing into Zero was great. One of the most unforgettable parts was the pedal blast (for those who didn't know, it's an extremely annoying move from Super Mario RPG that turned you into a muchroom). That was funny as hell. I think the one major thing that could be done to make this flash even better would have been if the characters were more well-known. Alot of the time I had no clue who some of the creatures were. Overall, this was an awesome movie, and it definetly does Newgrounds justice. Keep up the good work.

Wow.

That was just incredibly boring. I can't believe this got the front page. Not to insult you or anything, but I couldn't even watch the whole thing because I was so bored. If it got better further into it or something, sorry but you have to make the beginning interesting or people may not wanna watch the whole thing at all. Next time, try to use sprites from a game that aren't so limitted and boring. The sword fights were as simple as the characters moving toward each other and making a "clang" sound. That's not action. Better luck next time (which sounds akward, you being on the front page and all). Maybe I'm just not the right type to watch this.

Well hello. I have a poem for you. I was walking down the street. I pooped on the street. Your daddy gave me the middle finger. I beat him within an inch of his face. Merry friggin' Christmas.
